I have taken a short break from writing due to a combination of beautiful summer weather and too many swirling thoughts around the posts I’m working on. I’m happy to be back!

I have been doing my Girls re-watch and forgot how amazing the soundtrack is. It’s “get off your couch and dance to the end credits” good. I read this interview with the show’s music supervisor, Manish Raval, on the process of choosing songs for the show and felt inspired by music’s role in television. I also enjoyed this NYT piece about the ever-changing landscape of music licensing and how it’s affected soundtracks.
